VOLUNTEERING WITH SHIFOGA

You wish to volunteer with us? Don't worry, its simple, just follow the below guidelines:

Who are qualified to be volunteers?
A volunteer is ‘any person engaged in an activity which involves spending time, unpaid (except for travel and other approved out-of-pocket expenses), doing something which aims to benefit some third party and not a close relative. The applicant must not benefit from the volunteer position and receive payment except for travel and other approved expenses.

Requirements
1. Age-(18 and above)
2. Mental and Physical Healthy
3. Travel Visa
4. Clean Criminal Record
5. Medical Insurance
6. Covid  PCR test (Test should be done at most 3 days before arrival in the country)
7. Cover Letter or letter of introduction from Organization or Institution. 
8. Duly filled volunteering application Form .
9.Copies of the above documents should be scanned and sent back to us Via official email address

NOTE: The  fields in the volunteer application form are editable & can also be downloaded in PDF format, filled and sent back to us without going through the scanning process!

Volunteering Fees
Our Volunteering fees is 100 Euros Per Week (Deposited in Organization Bank Account) at least Two Weeks before arrival at the project site.
This is to facilitate the preparations for  the volunteer's arrangements  as far as accommodations and  specific activities he/she will be indulged in.
The Volunteering Fees will carter for three Meals a day, Accommodations, and project activity Fees.

Once the above requirements are fulfilled, our Volunteering Coordinator will get back to you and guide you through step by step process until your arrival at the project site. 

Please note airport transfers are NOT included in the volunteer donation for Eco-volunteers staying less than 4 weeks. We are willing to assist in arranging for the taxi but you will be responsible to cover the cost of this transfer at an extra cost of Ksh 4,000 each way from Mombasa airstrip or approximately Ksh 2000 from Ukunda airstrip.
